Anthropic releases Claude Sonnet 5 — its most agentic model yet

Anthropic introduced Claude Sonnet 5 — the most agentic model in the Sonnet line. It became the default model in Claude Code, gained a native 1M-token context window, and can plan on its own, use tools (browser, terminal), and run tasks autonomously at a level that just a few months ago required far larger and more expensive models.

Through August 31 there is a promotional price of $2 / $10 per million tokens (input / output).
